Come practice yoga overlooking the Alps! Our classes are held in one of the luxury Terra Alpina apartments, in a conservatory overlooking the Aosta Valley. Gaze out onto the green, lush panorama and the snow-covered mountain tops, running from the Swiss border to Gran Paradiso National park, while taking in the unique alpine atmosphere.

Yoga classes are taught by Anetta Alexandridi, who has been practicing yoga for ten years. She was introduced to the wonders of Ashtanga teaching by her teacher and friend Kristina Karitinos-Ireland. She has also attended seminars with various other prominent teachers and is currently participating in further training with Manju Jois, the eldest son of the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. She teaches primarily Ashtanga classes in Athens, Greece, although she is also expanding to teaching more specialized therapy classes for specific populations. She is passionate about yoga and teaching, and wished to complement it with her recently completed training as a Gestalt psychotherapist. She is currently working on harmoniously combining yoga and psychotherapy through group classes as well as individual sessions. For more information, please visit her website at www.yogashakti.gr.

Yoga Classes

Morning yoga classes are usually split into two 2-hour sessions: A Mysore practice (self-practice), suitable for people with at least six months of Ashtanga experience and a separate, led beginners class. Depending on the previous night's excursion, the first class will begin around 8:00 am. Optional afternoon classes on breathing techniques, light Hatha yoga or yoga theory will take place throughout the week, depending on the interests and levels of the group. The teacher reserves the right to change the teaching schedule.

Please bring your own yoga mat, or please inform us if you need one to be provided by us.

Excursions - Activities

Between classes there is plenty of time to explore the surrounding area. Excursions can be organized in groups or you can simply enjoy the mountain air surrounding the farmhouse, which nestles in 7000 square metres of private meadows.

Terra Alpina is situated at 1200 meters and there are plenty of easy/intermediate hiking routes of various durations all around the area. There are also more adventurous hikes as well as rafting, mountain bike routes and horse riding that can be arranged through us, so please notify us if you're interested in any of these activities.

There is also a small golf course and a swimming pool very near Terra Alpina as well as exquisite thermal springs only about 35 minutes away.

Meals

Breakfast and lunch will be served at the farmhouse, as will some of the dinners. We have arranged some of the dinners to be served in local restaurants; these are included in the retreat price. At Terra Alpina, all meals will be prepared in the house, using local produce and they will be primarily vegetarian, although non-vegetarian dishes will also be available. Please inform us of any food allergies or intolerances.
