From the Terra Alpina ski apartments there are two resorts that are only 20 minutes drive. There are also eight resorts in three countries within an hour's drive, making Terra Alpina a superb base from which to explore the Alps.

The closest resort is Pila, ྴ minutes to Aosta cable car). Pila is located to the south of the city of Aosta and is connected by a new cable car. It is very English-friendly as Interski, a British company, is the biggest holiday operator in the area. Pila is highly rated by professionals, as it has a wide range of pistes suitable for all levels. Even experts are kept happy by the dramatic bowl at the top of the 2700 metre mountain. For an independent view, see welove2ski's review here.

There are a host of internationally known resorts within easy reach of Terra Alpina:

More information on all these resorts can be found at welove2ski.com

However, one of the joys of the area is visiting small resorts unknown by most visitors, such as Crevacol, 20 minutes north of Terra Alpina, on the way to the St. Bernard tunnel. It has amazing off-piste skiing when the snow is fresh. There is also the picture-postcard village of Chamois, about 45 minutes away. Please see the welove2ski.com feature on the hidden gems of the Aosta valley.

If you are planning on visiting more than one resort, there are various lift pass options - you can buy daily passes for each resort, a weekly pass for the whole valley, or a non-consecutive multi-day pass, so that you can have days off - see www.skivallee.it for more details.
